Holly began her yoga journey over 25 years ago as a student of Kofi Busia in Santa Cruz, CA. Holly has traveled to Pune, India many times to study directly with the Iyengar family, and is currently an apprentice of Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher Cathy Rogers Evans. Holly's personal dedication to the intellectual and spiritual components of yoga led her to pursue a career in teaching Iyengar Yoga to others. With patience and humor she encourages students of all ages to progress in their practice and transform themselves in the process. Holly has experience with Yoga Therapy and helping those with physical and mental challenges. Beginners, seniors, as well as long time yoga students are welcome in her classes.

It takes years of devotion and study to accomplish certification in the method of Iyengar Yoga.  Holly has studied extensively with many senior teachers in the US and has also traveled to India six times to study directly at the prestigious RIMYI institute in Pune. Iyengar Yoga teachers have learned to adopt their teaching skills so they can be used to help recover your health and return to a general class.  IYCCV has the skills and the props to help you either in person or on Zoom.

Alex Aguilar

Holger Aguilar

TEACHER, LEVEL II

  • Holger started his yoga journey early 2003 with Ashtanga Yoga. In 2007 his teacher introduced him to Iyengar Yoga and since the summer intensive 2008 in Blaçons (France), Holger knew that this was his way to continue. After completing teacher training in Paris, he became a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2013 and upgraded his level to Intermediate Junior I in 2015. He studied with the Iyengar family in Pune multiple times for several months. He also took introductory classes in chanting and Sanskrit and traveled several times on pilgrimage to India’s holy Hindu and Buddhist places. Originally from Germany, Holger moved to the desert in 2015 and became student of Holly Hoffmann and Cathy Rogers Evans at Iyengar Yoga Palm Desert. Holger’s dynamic approach in class is much more than a physical challenge as he draws the connection to spirituality by using the body as a prop in a mindful way.
